Is it hard to Evangelize?

Evangelism has been on my mind for a while. We give every excuse possible to avoid talking to others about Jesus. But I think that if we are to be like Jesus, he went everywhere preaching (literally speaking with His mouth) the word, as well as just living the life. Most people say they preach with their lives, but the saying goes 'Practice what you preach' which hints that there's a preaching going on alongside the practicing.

One thing though, I think it is hard to evangelize most times but nothing good comes easy.

Evangelizing; how to?

I used to feel that way, and still may not know the best way to reach out to people, but because I have the passionate desire to, God finds ways to equip and use me. I think that's what any of us can hope and expect, if we desire to reach out to people for God, then we'll find situations where we "preach" eg encouraging a friend going through trying times, comforting someone who has just lost a loved one, settling quarrels between friends by speaking [preaching] about tolerance and forgiveness.

The lessons we have learnt in our own lives can serve as a resource for counselling, or advising others in need. This is all still part of evangelizing, even if it doesn't involve actually being there at the conversion experience of someone. Reaching out and demonstrating God's love by personal interaction is still evangelising, I think.

Hope I haven't gone on too long, but as you may imagine, its a subject dear to my heart.

The bible does say that the harvest is plenty but the labourers are few so we should pray to the Lord of the harvest to send labourers out. So for me I believe it all starts from the place of prayer. It is in that place of prayer that we get the grace that makes it " seemingly easy". Sure it's a bit daunting but His grace is sufficient. He is such a good God and we love Him.
