If Judas was destined to betray Jesus, then did he have a choice? And would he go to hell or heaven?
I know everyone thinks Judas is going to hell, but did he have a choice in the matter? Are we not just being judgemental about these things? I think he was created with a character that made him more inclined to thievery and therefore, can we blame him for taking the 30 pieces of silver? After you've seen a man that raised another man from the dead, would you not think he can save himself from common pharisees that he verbally attacks everyday?
Some one please attempt to answer me. This one bugs me a lot, since we are not much better than Judas ... or are you?

Well you raise some serious
Well you raise some serious issue but Judas isn't the only one born with a character defect if that is what it was. What about people who are warped by being abused as children or introduced to drugs by their addicted parents. Yes it's a disadvantage but at the same time Jesus is able to save us from all of that if we let him. The point is Matthew was more predisposed to financial mismanagement than judas since he had been a tax collector. Anyway just because you know someone is invulnerable doesn't mean you set him up to be hit by assassins, that's wrong. Judas knew what he did was wrong the problem was that even after 3 years he still had not gotten the message that Jesus was his only hope of salvation. Peter got the message that's why he was able to come back after the denials.
I think you are sound. Can I bounce another one off you?
I'm sure that the Bible is the inspired word of God. I just don't know how to explain when people bring up some seeming contradictions in it. Do you perhaps have any insight on these two verses, where the same occurrence was described in two very different ways. 1Chronicles 21:1 and 2Samuel 24:1. This also bugs me quite.

Good Question
Hello,
Your questions is very thought provoking and challenging.
Regarding him being destined, I don't think he was. Someone was to betray Jesus, but the individual was never named. Judas had the tendency, but he was just available for the devil to use. Its OK to be tempted, but its not OK for one to act it.
Regarding him going to heaven or hell. I do not think he will go to hell for betraying Jesus, because Peter did betray Him as well (three times), but Peter repented. Did Judas repent? Judgement is for God and Him alone.
Finally, there is a wage for sin, which is death. Committing suicide does not help Judas' case.
Have a great year!
