The Big Barnet Charity Carwash 2011

Growing in size and popularity year on year, Community Carwash is one of biggest events of the summer. It is a community favourite that draws people from all across Barnet and Brent.

This year the event took place in two locations Jesus House and the Barnet Scout Hut (next to Barnet FC Football club) From the 15th-20th August, more than one hundred people from across the borough visited the two locations, to either lend a helping hand or have their car washed.

It was an opportunity for the church to show the love of God in a practical and fun way. Cars were washed by members of the community and the church, and for the first time since carwash began four years ago, a good will minimum donation of £5 was accepted for local charitable causes which included Manna Project and Noah’s Ark project.

On the last day of carwash many volunteers washed cars until 7pm at the Jesus House location. Volunteers even ushered evening visitors outside to have their cars washed before the Reconnect and Soul 100 event started!
