RUC- Feedback Central

This blog is primarily for the parents and carers who are responsible for the young adults in the Youth Groups at Jesus House. This allows you to pass your thoughts, comments and opinions across to me and the team we can serve you in partnership. The only guideline is that the comments do not speak specifically about a young person, for such feedback please use my email address akisanyab@jesushouse.org.uk.

Thanks a lot and look forward to talking to you. Bajo Akisanya aka Pastor Baj' aka P.Bizzle (all depends on how old you are)

RUIC Update Letter

Hi thanks for visiting our new website! Last week we gave out a letter to all members of the  TM412 and the RUC Squad regarding some of the changes we have made. I thought I would put the whole letter here for the convenience of parents and young people who may not have yet received it.  P.Baj Out!

On behalf of the leadership at Jesus House, I would like to wish you a happy and prosperous New Year; I would also like to express our sincere gratitude for your patience and cooperation over the last year while we made some significant changes to the structure of both our youth groups - the RUC Squad and TM412.  RUC Squad (Raised Up in Christ), previously known as ‘Vision’, is the group for young adults aged between 16 and 21 years old.  TM412 (pronounced ‘team 4-12’) caters to the needs of 13 – 15 year olds.  As you may be aware, ‘TM412’ is now under the able guidance of Deacon Nkem Nwani; he is presently building on the excellent work that was done by Minister Yomi Oluremi-Judah and his team. The RUC Squad is managed by Yemi Olanrewaju and his team.

In 2010 we propose a further set of changes with a view to ensuring that the worship experience of the young people in our care is at its most beneficial.  Our focus this year as a Church is ‘New Frontiers’ and ‘Taking New Territory’.  In other words, this year we will aim to do things we have never done before as well as taking to an exceptional standard the things we do already.

To make the service we provide more effective a change to the service times for both groups has become necessary. There will now be only one Sunday service for TM412 at 10:30am in the Hephzibah room which is located directly behind the worship centre. This will run concurrently with the 10:30 a.m adult service.  There has also been a change to the meeting time for the RUC Squad; the group will now meet at 12.30pm, which is concurrent with the 12:30 p.m. adult service.  This change has been effected because the previous meeting time of 3.00 p.m. was presented challenges to a large number of families particularly during the winter months.

In a recent review of the attendance for each group, it emerged that a number of teenagers have remained in the TM412 classes beyond their 16th birthday.  Whilst we are aware that the process of change can be particularly daunting for our young people, it is necessary for them to move up to the right class in order to achieve continued personal development. We would grateful for your support in ensuring that your child / ward attends the appropriate service.

We appreciate that these changes may present some challenges to some parents and we would be grateful if any concerns are brought to our attention.  We welcome your feedback or comments on any aspect of the youth ministry.  You may either use the group email address RUIC@jesushouse.org.uk ; alternatively we have an online discussion forum for parents and carers on the Jesus House website at http://www.jesushouse.org.uk/ruic-feedback-central.
